Hyperbat is a joint venture between Williams Advanced Engineering and Unipart Manufacturing Group that was formed with a mission to manufacture innovative high-voltage battery solutions, optimised for high-performance and specialist applications.

Hyperbat is the UK’s leading manufacturer of high-performance electric vehicle battery packs and aims to become the UK leader in high-voltage battery systems, supporting UK plc by growing the UK battery technology supply chain. Hyperbat’s UK battery manufacturing plans to bridge the gap between low-volume prototype build and high-volume hybrid and electric vehicle production.

The Facility

Industry 4.0

Technologies Deployed

The facility is about to double in size to meet current needs, with plans to double again in the next 2 years.

The factory is based on the site of a former exhaust plant and reintroduces manufacturing to the area, with an environmentally sustainable future.

Capacity of the factory is approximately 10,000 packs per year.

Showcasing innovation and high-value manufacturing the facility includes light-guide technology, “cobots” and multiple welding technologies, to ensure productivity, traceability and quality assurance.
